My Plastic-Free & Zero-Waste Journey

Writer: ivy iviivy ivi

Currently, I am obsessed with a zero waste lifestyle and I have been trying to replace my plastic goods at home with eco-friendly and plastic-free alternatives. So I would say I am officially trying to live a more waste-free life.

Reusable or eco-friendly items can be more expensive than the disposable products but I think you can save money in the long run as you don’t have to replace them after every use!

So I have purchased some shampoo/body wash bars, tumblers, reusable panty liners/cup and trying out application for selling second-hand items! Even regularly deleting the spam and random emails because I heard that a clean inbox has a positive impact on the environment as well!

I got the new body sponges as well because I thought that those were made with Konjac but it turned out these are not made from 100% eco-friendly ingredients, so I will probably buy a new one again sometime soon.

Btw, this is kinda random but I recently found out that peeing in shower part of water-saving efforts too. Don’t feel guilty about peeing in the shower. It actually helps the environment.

Also, I’m currently in the process of trying to research some substitute for laundry detergent and mulling over purchasing a laundry detergent made from nuts. Laundry soap is soap berries or shell that naturally contains a cleaning agent that works like a detergent.

I’m planning to buy more eco-friendly products like reusable menstrual pads, dish soap and laundry soap nuts. I’ll share more of my ongoing personal journey to a low waste life once I buy more plastic free & eco-friendly products!
