My first Paris trip 2020

I wanna share my experiences and time of my trip to Paris, also my first true traveling experience to another country in my 20s. I don’t like traveling, so I only went to like 4-5 other countries (North America, East Europe and the Netherlands) when I actually had to move there for work or school. I’ve only traveled to the other countries for work, never for pleasure.

Now I’m living in the Netherlands so It is easy to travel almost anywhere in Europe. But I don’t really like traveling so I’m not sure if I will travel to some other countries in the future except for a business trip.

So my Paris trip was overall good. I was a little bit worried before the trip tho, because of the ‘arrogant French people’ stereotype. There is a bit of a stereotype amongst non-French people that Parisians can be a bit cold or rude.

But when I actually went to the restaurants in France, waiters were friendly and weren’t really cold-shouldered. Also, I was traveling with my husband and he tried to speak French as much as possible and always said ‘’Bonjour’ and ‘Merci’ when we’re going into a store or restaurant, so I think this helped a lot too.

I heard that not doing it is the big faux pas. And unlike what it says on the internet, most French people will speak English if they can.

Traveling to Paris was an eye opener for me and changed my whole mind about traveling in general.

It almost made me think that I should have paired the Paris trip with another week or several days in different city or European country.

I already miss Paris.

I love the city with every fiber of my being!
